  • Entrance to BIG I and Set Up begins Fri 7/20  @ 6pm
  • Meat inspection Sat 7/21 begins @ 7am

People Choice Information

Each teams get 1 or 2 pork butt for cooking in peoples choice

Teams turn in one pan for judging, when turned in they are assigned a randomly selected number. Pans will be marked with the number on the bottom of the pan.


People will pay $10  to sample the people's choice. Each person will receive a ticket to vote on the best pork. They will be able to sample all entries. They will place their ticket in the one they thought was the best.


Most number of tickets will win the people's choice.

Winner of people choice will be announced Sat night after the judging.  Judging will take place between 5pm and 8pm

1st place get 40% of whats collected

2nd place 30% of whats collected

The remainder goes back into the AKBBQA for more fun events!

  • Sat 7/21  Seafood:  1230-300 pm Steak: 300 pm-4-30 pm,  Dessert 5pm 
  • Sunday 7/22 Turn Ins begin @ 1130 am
  • Chicken turn in 1130 am
  • Pork Ribs turn in 1200 pm
  • Pork turn in 1230 pm
  • Brisket turn in 100 pm
  • Sauce Turn in 130 pm
  • Must bring your own ash can
  • Each Team Must Have a  FIRE EXTINGUISHER
  • PEOPLES CHOICE AWARD.  COOK TWO PORK BUTTS TO  SHARE WITH THE COMMUNITY.

  • You may enter the Big I parking log to set up beginning at 6pm Friday night 7/20  Be very cautious of pedestrians.

  • Sites are approx. 20 x 20

  • Not recommended to leave set –up unattended.
  •  No guaranteed electric or water.  Must bring your own generator and water
